WASH systems monitoring
To improve access to safe water and sanitation, it is necessary to understand what actions countries and development partners are undertaking in the water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) sector.
WHO, in collaboration with UNICEF, has two main tools for monitoring components of WASH systems:
- The UN-Water Global Analysis and Assessment of Sanitation and Drinking-Water (GLAAS), which provides policy- and decision-makers with a comprehensive global analysis of WASH systems with a focus on finance; and
- WASH accounts, a snapshot of WASH financial flows in a comparable format, which are developed using the TrackFin methodology.
